Yamal LNG Project
The US$29 billion Arctic LNG flagship — KUTA, as an HR supplier, delivered 60+ Chinese and international engineers and 578 person-months, covering the full sequence from engineer to site project manager.
Background
Yamal LNG aims to commercialize natural gas from the Russian Arctic, with total capital expenditure of US$29 billion. The project is delivered by a consortium of EPC contractors and equipment manufacturers from five countries — seven of them Chinese. KUTA served as one of the human-resources suppliers, building and continuously sustaining the on-site Chinese and international engineering team.
Client challenges
- Extreme cold Arctic operations; disciplines span structural, piping, welding, mechanical, painting, fireproofing, insulation, electrical, instrumentation and NDT
- Full hierarchy required — from engineer through construction manager to site project manager
- Chinese and expatriate engineers must collaborate across cultures and international standards
- 578 person-months demands sustained, reliable long-cycle delivery and compliance
- A large EPC consortium imposes strict credential, background-check, insurance and site-compliance requirements
How KUTA helped
Parallel search by discipline
Teams split by structural / piping / mechanical / E&I / QA-QC, drawing directly on domestic EPC, offshore and industrial talent with overseas project track records.
Combined Chinese & expatriate supply
Alongside Chinese engineers, we brought in expatriate specialists from Asia and North America to meet the consortium's multilingual, multi-standard needs.
Full hierarchy coverage
From site engineers and discipline leads to construction and project managers, mobilized in waves against project milestones and backfilled on an ongoing basis.
Mobilization & payroll in one window
Employment contracts, payroll, insurance, travel and site logistics are handled by KUTA, so the client and EPC team carry zero personnel administration.
